SCOTT CAIRNS

SCOTT CAIRNS

I am in Sec 4 at John Rennie High School currently enrolled in my fourth year of the Sport-Etudes soccer program. This accelerated academic program is in coordination with the Federation Québécois de Soccer and is designed to allow student athletes to pursue their chosen sport while enabling them to succeed academically. It's a real balancing act but one that I have really enjoyed and benefitted from these past four years. I have the opportunity to train each day at Catalogna with great coaches and super teammates from JRHS, des Sources, Chene-Bleu and College de Montreal. My earlier beginnings were with the Pierrefonds Cobras while attending St. Anthony's but when there was an opportunity to move up to Triple AAA with Lakeshore, I made the move and have been with Lakeshore United ever since. My aspirations are to continue into the semi-pro team while also studying commerce at University so that I may own and run my own designer retail business some day in the future.

While I attended St. Anthony's between 2005 and 2012, I had many incredible teachers and made some fantastic friendships that I still have today. There are two very memorable years during my tenure at St. Anthony's; grade 2 with Mme Gendron because she always took the time to understand each of her students unique needs and was able to 'coach' us respectively so that we would be and do our very best and grade 6 because of the many inter-school sporting competitions where we learned to both win and lose graciously all the while having fun. St. Anthony certainly was instrumental in the building of a strong educational and social base in my academic journey and I am a very proud member of its alumni.
